Mongolia intends to formulate draft technical regulations for meat production and trade
On May 21, 2021, the Mongolian Bureau of Standards and Metrology issued Announcement No. 259, which intends to formulate a draft technical regulation on the production and trade of meat products. The main contents of the draft include:
-The scope of application is Mongolian domestic and imported meat products of cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, poultry and other animals;
-Terms and definitions;
-Veterinary hygiene requirements for animals for slaughter (including the types of diseases that require attention);
-Hygienic requirements during animal transportation;
-Slaughterhouse hardware requirements;
-Operational points of each link of slaughter and processing, process sanitation control, and technical requirements for meat reprocessing;
-Veterinary hygiene requirements for imported meat products;
-Official supervision and management of slaughterhouses and products, establishment and implementation of national monitoring plans, and product recalls, etc.
The feedback period for the draft is until July 20, 2021.
