On August 25, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2021-413, which intends to amend part of the Food Sanitation Law. The main contents are as follows:

1. It is clearly stated that the legislative purpose of the Food Sanitation Law should include the protection of the safety and health of Korean citizens.

2. Formulate the reassessment results based on the Codex Alimentarius can provide a basis for changing standards and specifications.

3. Formulate the basis for the certification of physical recycled materials such as synthetic resin appliances.

The deadline for the feedback is October 5, 2021.
