FSANZ approve pectin esterase as a processing aid

 
According to Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on November 19, 2021, they issued Notification Circular 180-21, which approved Application A1240 and Application A1241.

Application A1240 permits polygalacturonase from a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus oryzae containing the polygalacturonase gene from Aspergillus tubingensis, as a processing aid in the manufacture of fruit and vegetable juices/products, coffee processing, flavouring production, and wine production.

Application A1241 permits pectin esterase from a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus oryzae, containing the pectin esterase gene from Aspergillus tubingensis, as a processing aid in the manufacture of fruit and vegetable juices/products, coffee processing, flavouring production, and wine production.
