On November 30, 2021, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment of issued Industry advice notices 240-2021: Addition of Estonia to list of approved Salmonid processing countries.
According to the notice, this new approval is only for product processed in Estonia. Estonia is not currently approved as a source country for salmon products. Salmon processed in Estonia prior to export to Australia must be accompanied by a Government Health Certificate from the Estonia’s Veterinary and Food Board (VFB), and must be sourced from one of the department’s approved source countries as listed below: Canada, Denmark, Republic of Ireland, Norway, United Kingdom and United States of America.
