The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced on April 27 that it will cooperate with local governments to inspect advertisements from April 28 to May 3 in order to prevent inappropriate advertisements or illegal practices that confuse consumers in online food sales.
MFDS will focus on some 300 Internet ads, such as those for food products, which are widely publicized by the media and popular with consumers, to check whether there are inappropriate ads such as those that claim to be effective in preventing and curing diseases and those that deceive consumers.
* Foods that claim to "enhance immune function, intestinal health, defecation activity, skin health, and fatigue (blood circulation) improvement".
