On May 4, 2022, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food safety inspection notice.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency monitors chemical and microbiological hazard levels and develops a risk management strategy. When a violation is found, CFIA will take appropriate action, including notification of the manufacturer or importer, further targeted sampling, seizure or recall of the product.
The food safety monitoring notice includes 5 parts: disallowed pigments in spices (2019-2020), bacterial pathogens and indicators in ready-to-eat meat (2018-2021), bacterial pathogens and indicators in pasteurized cheese (2018-2021), bacterial pathogens and indicators in ready-to-eat fish and seafood (2018-2021), bacterial pathogens indicators, viruses and parasites in in various types of food (2017-2021, interim report).
