Australia changed the import conditions of other risk plant products such as frozen fruits, vegetables and herbs for human consumption

On 7 May 2022, the Australian Department of Agriculture Water and Resources issued a notice to change the import conditions of other risk plant products to reduce the risk of khapra beetles and other Trogoderma species with biosecurity concerns entering Australia.  Specific requirements are as follows:

Through some other way to import risk plant products now must be accompanied by certificate of plant quarantine and the following additional statement: "representative sample for the inspection, found in Australia biosafety concern of animal species list without any Trogoderma species (live, dead or molting) proof of that."  The new import conditions apply only to other risk plant products exported from all countries on or after 28 April 2022.  The change applies to frozen fruits, vegetables and herbs for human consumption;  Vacuum-sealed nuts for human consumption; Coarse-ground grain mixtures for human consumption; Truffles for human consumption; Dried dates or beans for human consumption; Dried apricots for human consumption; Dried grapes for human consumption; Splitting beans for human consumption;Raw nuts for human consumption; Cocoa powder/butter/cake/liquid; Dried herbs for human consumption; Carob/cacao beans and husks for human consumption; Pearl barley; Plantain shells for human consumption; Rice for human consumption or processing; Sunflower kernels or seeds for human consumption; Hemp seeds and products; Bitter buckwheat for human consumption; Flaxseed for human consumption; sesame for human consumption.

The change takes effect on May 7, 2022.
