Belarus finds new logistics route to boost food exports to China

Belarus has found a new transport route through Russian territory and ports instead of Ukraine, thus Belarus maintains a smooth logistics chain to China, Belarusian officials revealed at a China-Belarus agricultural Cooperation webinar on Wednesday.  According to the Belarusian ambassador in China, more than 150 Belarusian food exporters have been successfully registered in China's customs system.  They are producers of dairy products, frozen beef, chicken, fish, confectionery, wine and other foods. Since 2017, the share of Belarusian agricultural and food exports to China has increased from 3.2 percent to 41.7 percent.  Meat products accounted for a large proportion of exports, with a total value of $77.8 million, up 3.8 times year-on-year.  Milk and dairy products are in second place, with exports of nearly $24 million.  "So far, the situation has stabilized with new transport routes through connections within Russia and ports.  It is expected that Belarus' meat and dairy exports to China will maintain a positive growth with the accumulation of logistics experience along the new route".
