On 6 July 2022, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food safety inspection notice.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency monitors chemical and microbiological hazard levels and develops a risk management strategy. When a violation is found, CFIA will take appropriate action, including notification of the manufacturer or importer, further targeted sampling or seizure or recall of the product.
The food safety monitoring notice includes two parts: alternatives to BISphenol A and BPA in canned meat, fish and seafood (2017-2018) and food coloring that is not permitted in red palm oil (2020-2021).
