South Korea has published a draft to revise part of the Codex Alimentarius to revise the standard specifications of royal jelly

On July 18, The Republic of Korea (ROK) issued notice No. 2022-322 to amend part of the Codex Alimentarius. The main changes are as follows:
 
1. Expand the scope of temporary thawing of frozen foods.
 
2. Revise the moisture and crude protein standard of royal jelly to harmonize it with international specification: moisture from 65.5%- 68.5% (drying products below 5.0%) modified to 62.0%- 68.5% (dry products under 5.0%), crude protein from 11.0%-14.5% (30.0% -41.0%for dry products) changed to 11.0%-18.0% (30.0%-41.0%for dry products).
 
3. Integrate the applicable food names in the mycotoxin limit standards.
 
4. Modify the list of food raw materials.
 
5. Set up or revise residue limit standards for 120 pesticides, including deltamethrin.
 
6.Integrate repeated limits for pesticides and veterinary drugs.

7. Set new residue limits for indoxacarb and other three pesticides in animal and aquatic products.
 
8. Modify general test methods, etc.
 
The above comments will be solicited until September 19, 2022.
