On 21 July 2022, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2022/1266, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council, monosodium glutamate produced by Corynebacterium glutamate KCCM 80187 is approved as a feed additive for all animals.
 
This additive is authorized as an animal additive under the category "sensory additives" and the functional group "Flavoring Compounds" under the conditions specified in the annex.

The expiration date of authorization is August 10, 2032. These regulations shall take effect twenty days from the date of promulgation.
