Malaysia issued a list of standard regulations to amended the Food Ordinance 1985 in 2023

On 5 July 2022, the official website of the Ministry of Health of Malaysia released the list of food standards regulations under the Food Ordinance 1985 to be amended in 2023. The Ministry of Health, through the Programme of Food Safety Management (PKKM), is conducting a comprehensive and systematic review of the Food Ordinance 1985 over a five-year period from 2020 to 2024.
 
The list covers a total of 44 items in seven categories, including tea, coffee, chicory and related products, hard shell fruits (coconut and coconut products, peanut products), vegetables and vegetable products, food not standardized elsewhere, new food and other commodities. All interested parties (stakeholders) may submit comments on amendments to the regulations contained in the list until December 31, 2022.
