Brazil's global poultry exports rose 5.1% in January-October; Exports in October were 0.8% lower than in 2021; Brazil's global pork exports fell 4.5% in January-October; Exports fell 0.5 percent in October.
According to the latest statistics from ABPA, Brazil's animal protein association, poultry exports fell slightly by 0.8% in October from a year earlier. Export earnings rose 15 percent. In October, a total of 394,000 tons of poultry meat was exported, with a total income of $8,226,000. The cumulative export from January to October was 4.06 million tons, an increase of 5.1% compared with 2021; Cumulative income rose 29.3 percent in the January-October period.
The cumulative increase in exports continued to be from the United Arab Emirates, up 22.9% to 377,300 tons. The Philippines imported 215,000 tons, up 45.6%; The EU imported 202,100 tons, an increase of 23.8%; And South Korea imported 153,300 tons, up 63.2 percent. At present, Brazilian poultry exports remain above 400,000 tons per month, which is in line with the Brazilian Animal Protein Association's forecast for the market this year: international demand for Brazilian poultry continues to grow steadily.
On the other hand, Brazilian pork exports reached 98,600 tons in October, down 0.5% from a year earlier; October revenue rose 8.8 percent from a year earlier to $2.371 million. Exports totaled 924,200 tons from January to October, down 4.5 percent from the same period last year; Revenue for the period was 8.4% lower than in 2021.
Brazil's monthly pork exports in the second half of the year averaged more than 100,000 tonnes, better than the average for the first half of 2022 and the whole of 2021, suggesting an improvement in 2023. Major markets include China, Chile and the Philippines, all markets have different levels of growth in October, with Chile importing 7,200 tons and the Philippines 4,400 tons of Brazilian pork.
The Chinese market remains Brazil's most important meat export market: in October, China imported 42,080 tons of Brazilian poultry, down 18% from 2021, and the cumulative imports from January to October were 453,799 tons, down 17% from 2021. China imported 46,006 tons of Brazilian pork in October, up 23.2% from a year earlier. The total imports from January to October were 363,873 tons, a 24% decrease compared with the same period in 2021.
