On 23 November 2022, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced a temporary restriction on the import of poultry and its products from the vicinity of the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in the United Kingdom.
As a result of the H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in 36 areas of the United Kingdom, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products within 10km of the affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) requirements for avian influenza virus inactivation for heat treatment will not be affected by the import restrictions.
