On December 7, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) 2022/2388, amending Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006, namely, the maximum limit of perfluoroalkyl substances in certain foods, which will come into effect on the 20th day after its publication. The main revisions are: 

(1) Adding the maximum content of perfluoroalkyl substances in food; 

(2) Foods listed in the appendix, which are legally placed on the market before January 1, 2023, can be used within their shortest shelf life 

(3) The regulation shall be binding as a whole and directly applicable in all Member States.
