The earning potential of Russian agricultural exports to China is between 6 to 10 billion US dollars

News from SeafoodMedia on January 20, from January to November 2022, the trade volume of agricultural products between Russia and China increased by 36%, reaching 6 billion US dollars.


The Russian Agricultural Export Center estimated that the annual potential to supply Russian agricultural products to China is 6-10 billion US dollars.


In 2021, the export value of Russian agricultural products to China was 3.6 billion US dollars, which is lower than the 4.1 billion US dollars in the previous year, but the export value in the first seven months of 2022 was 2.3 billion US dollars, exceeding the 2.1 billion US dollars in the same period in 2021.


The products with the greatest demand in the Chinese market are fish and shellfish. In 2021, the Russian Federation supplied nearly $480 million worth of frozen fish to China, up from $1.2 billion in 2020, with exports worth $432.5 million in the first seven months of 2022.


The supply of Russia's grains, meat products and vegetable oils to China has potential for growth.
