EU revised control measures for imported goods involving foods from China

Official Journal of the European Union, January 27, 2023 - On January 26, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/174 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/1793 made under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/625 and (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council, amending the temporary addition of official controls and emergency measures to regulate the entry into the EU of certain goods from certain third countries. The main content includes:


(1) In the second part of the official certificate template of Annex IV, the II.2.5 points were added, which mainly involved (EU) 2019/1793 Annex II certification, including the composite food listed in the attachment. What causes the risk of pollution;


(2) Revised the relevant provisions of laboratory analysis, requiring the detailed information of the analysis method and all results of the attached laboratory, indicating that it is in line with EU laws. It is required that the inspection report reflects "according to instructions 2002/63/EC in ... (Date) to sample from the above -mentioned consignment of goods, and in ... (time) in ... (laboratory name), laboratory analysis" and other content, and It is required to cover at least the Harm items determined in the Annex II 2019/1793 Annex II.


(3) The regulations shall come into effect on the 20th after the issuance of its EU official bulletin. The regulations shall have all binding power and apply directly to all member states.
