EU plans to revise the border control regulations for imported compound food

On February 15, 2023, the European Commission website published Ref.Ares (2023) No. 1099947 proposal, which intends to revise the border control regulations for imported compound foods (ie (EU) Regulation No. 2021/630).

 

The main content of the revision is: Grain-based composite foods (such as macaroni, noodles, puffed or baked cereal products, breakfast cereals, oatmeal, potato chips, biscuits, etc.) are included in the list of low-risk foods that are shelf-stable and exempt from border inspections when imported. The comment period for this proposal ends March 15, 2023.
