Polish Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus said on his Twitter that the European Commission may continue to ban neighboring countries from importing grain from Ukraine. The tweet said: "We have received a draft new regulation from the European Commission banning the import of four products from five countries."

Due to protests from local farmers, Poland and some Eastern European countries suspended the import of Ukrainian agricultural products that entered the European market duty-free this spring.

Afterwards, the European Union took temporary measures to ban the import of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds to five neighboring countries of Ukraine (possibly extended to June 5). These five neighboring countries are Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. At the same time, these agricultural products can still be transshipped in these countries.

Ukraine opposed extending the ban, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen backed the Kiev government.
