On June 11, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 64 of 2023, announcing that the import of heat-treated beef from Pakistan that meets relevant requirements will be allowed from now on.
The Pakistani heat-treated beef that is allowed to be imported refers to the deboned skeletal muscle of cattle under the age of 30 months (the body part of the cattle after slaughtering, bloodletting and removal of hair, viscera, head, tail and limbs (below the wrist and joints)) as raw materials, pre-deboned and fat-removed meat products that have been heat-treated so that the internal center temperature reaches above 70°C for at least 30 minutes. Products produced from septum, minced meat, minced meat, minced fat, mechanically separated meat and other by-products are not allowed to be exported to China.
At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the relevant requirements for imports, including requirements for manufacturers, inspection and quarantine requirements, processing requirements, storage requirements, certificate requirements, etc.
