On June 9, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 64 of 2023, announcing that the import of edible peas and lentils from Kazakhstan that meet the relevant requirements will be allowed from now on.

Peas (Pisum sativum) and lentils (Lens culinaris) in this announcement refer to the seeds that are planted and processed in Kazakhstan and exported to China for food or food processing, and shall not be used for planting.

At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the relevant requirements for imports, including: registration requirements, production requirements, packaging and transportation requirements, product requirements, pre-export quarantine and certificate requirements, etc.
