According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, Moldova and China signed a memorandum of cooperation on the development of the wine industry of the two countries.
"The Republic of Moldova will cooperate with the People's Republic of China to develop the wine industry. The corresponding memorandum was signed in Yinchuan by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Boria and Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Tang Renjian," said a press release on the ministry's website. The document stipulates the establishment of mutually beneficial partnerships, the development of dialogue and cooperation platforms, and the organization of experience exchanges in policy, technological innovation, trade, culture, tourism, brand creation, advertising, etc. The two countries will also cooperate to mutually recognize wine product standards.
Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Boriya pointed out that in recent years, the wine industry has contributed about 3% of Moldova's GDP and 8% of its exports, and emphasized that Moldova is one of the top ten wine producers in the world. One of the producing and exporting countries, its wine products are exported to more than 70 countries.
Boria said: "At present, we are constantly striving to become a stable and reliable trading partner in the Chinese market through the supply of agricultural products...China is a stable economy that is in a leading position among the world's economic powers. Given its potential, it is very important for us. It is an important sales market.”
