On 26 June 2023, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) issued Proposal 2023-A08 to review fresh, chilled or frozen beef import requirements.
The main conclusion of the review is: For fresh, refrigerated or frozen beef from countries that have already entered the country, it is not necessary to require the exporting country to officially certify that there is no outbreak of bovine lumpy skin disease (LSD) on the grounds of biosecurity. The feedback period for this proposal ends on July 26, 2023.
