On June 27, 2023, the European Commission website published the Ares (2023) No. 4445210 consultation document, which intends to supplement Regulation (EU) No. 251/2014 and formulate the composition instructions for aromatic wine products. The feedback period ends in July 2023 25th. The specific content is as follows:
1. The name of the wine can use "wine" or add a specific wine with the name of the grape; all other ingredients added to the base wine product should be indicated in brackets, according to their added volume or Descending order by weight;
2. To make it easier for consumers to understand the product, the term "concentrated wine" is allowed to be used instead of rectified concentrated wine to obtain aromatized wine products;
3. When sulfites, egg products or milk products are used in the production of aromatic wine products, they shall be indicated on the label; the allergens shall be indicated in brackets that they are used in the production of wine products;
4. Additives such as carbon dioxide, argon, and helium are mainly used to measure and exchange oxygen during wine bottling. When bottling, it is marked "there is protective gas in the bottle".
