On July 3, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued Announcement No. 79 of 2023, announcing that the import of fresh kiwifruit from New Zealand that meets the relevant requirements will be allowed from now on.

Orchards and packaging plants exported to China must be reviewed and filed with the Ministry of Primary Industries of New Zealand (hereinafter referred to as the "New Party"), and approved and registered by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "Chinese Party"). The registration information needs to include name, address and registration number, so as to accurately trace the source when the goods exported to China do not meet the relevant requirements. Before the annual export season, Singapore needs to provide the Chinese side with a registration list, which will be published on the website of the General Administration of Customs after being reviewed and approved by the Chinese side.

At the same time, the announcement also lists in detail the relevant requirements for imports, including packaging requirements, phytosanitary certificate requirements, etc.
