America sets standards for vegetable oils

On July 26, 2023, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued the vegetable Oil Standard, which will be implemented from the date of publication. Main contents as below:

 

1. Product standards. Divided into vegetable salad oil, etc; Low saturated fat vegetable oils should be labeled "low saturated fat"; Microbial requirements for low-calorie, fat-free salad dressing (total number of colonies <1000CFU/g, acid-resistant organisms <10CFU/g, Yeast and Molds<10CFU/g); Vegetable oil product shelf life of at least 1 year; Vegetable oil with official weight certificate; The manufacturer shall conduct product testing and quality analysis to ensure that the product meets the requirements of the product standard and shall provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA);

 

(2) Packaging labels. The commercial bill of lading showing the production batch number and the label of the product transportation document should be marked "FORUSDAFOOD".
