On September 4, 2023, the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) issued a notice to revise the standards for the production, processing and supply of foods of animal origin. Major revisions include:
Revise the definition of periodic declaration, such as periodic declaration refers to the declaration of conformity of raw materials made within a specified time by an organization that provides animals or animal-based raw materials for the production and processing of food of animal origin;
Updating the standard reference animal infectious disease control manual;
The labels of imported aquatic products and their products (excluding edible fish oil and fish meal) shall be marked with the scientific name of the species indicated on the official import certificate;
Reduce the frequency of official supervision of honey production enterprises self-verification requirements;
Revision of pre - and post-mortem inspection requirements for red meat products, etc.
The revised comment period ends on September 29, 2023.
