On September 22, 2023, the website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan announced that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) intends to amend the Technical specification for the Safety of Meat and Meat Products (TR TC 034/2013) to require producers to provide the most accurate information on the protein and fat content in the labeling, that is, the allowable range of actual protein and fat content has been determined. For example, in national monitoring, the protein content of labeled meat products should not be less than 20% and the fat content should not exceed 20%. However, the actual protein and fat indicators of meat products for children's food must not exceed the allowable levels set out in Schedule 4 of TR TC 034/2013.

The above amendments will enter into force within 30 months of signature, which is expected to be signed on September 27, 2023.
