US released the FY2024 sampling analysis plan for chemical residue in imported food

On September 29, 2023, the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) released the FY2024 Sampling Analysis Plan for Residues of Chemical Substances in imported Food, including drug residues and environmental contaminants. 


The relevant imported foods subject to sampling analysis include unprocessed/processed beef, chicken, Turkey, lamb, pork and unprocessed catfish and eggs. The residual chemicals to be sampled for analysis included aminoglycoside antibiotics (610 samples), antifungal dyes (125 samples), avamicin (70 samples), carbatos, metals (294 samples), multiple residues (860 samples), nitrofurans (125 samples), and pesticides (samples) 490 samples were analyzed), PFAS (perfluoroalkyl sulfonates, 125 samples were analyzed), and sulfonamides (60 samples were analyzed).
