Russian government: Export of durum wheat banned until May 31, 2024

SPUTNIK Moscow, December 11, according to the Russian government announcement, Russia suspended the export of durum wheat, the ban is valid until May 31, 2024.

 

"Russia has imposed temporary export restrictions on durum wheat," the Russian government said in a statement. The government decree has been signed." In the announcement, the Russian government noted that the temporary restriction measures will come into force from the date of the government order and will be valid until May 31, 2024.

 

"The move is aimed at ensuring food security and maintaining stable prices of durum wheat products on the domestic market," the Russian government said in a statement.

 

The export ban is not covered by the export of durum wheat for international humanitarian assistance, the export of durum wheat under the framework of international intergovernmental agreements, the export of durum wheat to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and the export of durum wheat as a military grain reserve. Durum wheat may be exported to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan) within established quotas and with the permission of the Ministry of Agriculture.
