On May 22, 2024, the General Administration of Customs of China issued Announcement No. 62 of 2024, announcing that from now on, the import of Russian Jerusalem artichoke that meets the relevant requirements will be allowed.
The Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus) in this announcement refers to fresh or dried Jerusalem artichoke tubers and their slices grown and processed on the territory of the Russian Federation and may not be used for cultivation purposes.
The registered production, processing and storage enterprise (hereinafter referred to as the enterprise) shall be recommended by the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (hereinafter referred to as the Russian side) to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese side), and the Chinese side will evaluate and examine the enterprise provided by the Russian side and register it. Enterprises without GACC registration shall not export Jerusalem artichoke to China.
