U.S. proposed to amend food additive regulations

On May 16, 2024, according to the U.S. Federal Register, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued Notice 2024-10888, which proposes to amend the food additive regulations.

 

Specifically, it is proposed to approve the use of sodium coppe chlorophylin as a coloring agent in dietary supplements (capsule dosage form) at an additive level ranging from 0.08%-0.4%, and to approve fescue grass (Festuca arundinacea) as a permitted extraction source of this coloring agent.

 

The notice will be published in the Federal Register on May 17, 2024, with a 60-day comment period.
