CFSA seeks public opinion on 9 new food additive varieties including Steviol Glycosides (produced by fermentation)

On June 24, 2024, the China National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) issued a public announcement seeking opinions on nine new food additive varieties, including steviol glycosides (produced by fermentation). The full text of the announcement is as follows:

 

According to the "Administrative Measures for New Food Additive Varieties" and the "Regulations on the Declaration and Acceptance of New Food Additive Varieties," the applications for five new food additive varieties including steviol glycosides (produced by fermentation), two new types of food nutrient fortifiers - 2'-fucosyllactose and lacto-N-tetraose, and the expanded use of food additives sodium cyclamate (also known as saccharinand steviol glycosides, have undergone technical review by the Expert Review Committee regarding their safety and technological necessity (specific details are attached). We are now seeking public opinions. Please submit your relevant opinions to our center's email (zqyj@cfsa.net.cn) before July 25, 2024. Opinions received after the deadline will be considered as having no opinion.
