On July 12, 2024, the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture issued Circular No. 2024/0398/HU on the proposed amendments to the Food Information Regulations. The feedback period ends October 15, 2024.

Main content: Increase labeling requirements for energy drinks.

The product name may only be marketed in a form that includes the term "energy drink";

The term "energy drink" must also be displayed in the main field of view of the product in a manner consistent with Annex IV of Regulation (EC) No 1169/2011/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, with a height of at least 3 mm;

The name of the product containing "energy drink" may also be used for non-alcoholic beverage products containing specified ingredients;

Product labels that do not comply with the new regulations can remain on the market for up to 12 months.
