Australia intends to update the list of high-risk species of non-salmon marine finfish imported for human consumption
On November 4, 2020, the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water Resources and Resources issued Announcement No. 2020-139 to update the list of high-risk species of non-salmonids imported into Australia for human consumption. It is proposed to include 20 species of fish, including wolffish and combfish, into the list of high-risk species. The main risk points are infectious pancreatic necrosis virus and viral hemorrhagic sepsis virus.
The public comment period is until January 29, 2021.
