South Korea Issues Partial Amendments to the "Regulations on the Inspection of Residual Substances in Edible Meat"
On July 6, the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2021-59 to amend part of the "Regulations on the Inspection of Residual Substances in Edible Meat". The main contents are as follows:
1. Change the terminology related to the inspection of edible meat residues from "carcass" to "edible meat".
2. Revise part of the clauses and sentences that are reported to the head of the Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock Quarantine Department after the municipal and provincial animal product inspection agencies have formulated the inspection plan.
3. Develop detailed necessary measures based on the inspection results of edible meat residues.
