On January 3, 2022, the Argentine government officially passed Decree No. 911/2021, announcing the new beef export plan for this year.
In Article 1 of the Decree, the final and/or suspension of export of the following fresh, refrigerated or frozen beef pieces shipped abroad will be suspended until December 31, 2023. The suspended beef cuts include: whole beef, half beef, the first quarter with bone (including incomplete beef cuts), the back quarter with bone (including incomplete beef cuts), incomplete half bovine with bone, or beef ribs with/without bones.
On the other hand, the seven types of grilled meat that are in strong demand in the Argentine domestic market, including fresh, refrigerated or frozen products, will also be banned from export before the end of 2023. They are: asado, matambre, vacío, cuadrada, falda, tapa de asado and paleta.
