On February 21, 2022, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced that it has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products from areas affected by the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Spain.

In view of the outbreak, the National Parks Board/Animal & Veterinary Service (NParks/AVS) has imposed temporary restrictions on the importation of poultry and poultry products from 10 km radius restricted area around the affected premises in the above regions with effect from the respective date of /confirm/iation.

In order to facilitate the clearance of permits for poultry and poultry products, we would require the following attestations to be included in the veterinary health certificate accompanying the import of poultry and poultry products:

(a) Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) is a notifiable disease in Spain.

(b) The birds from which the meat was sourced were not vaccinated against avian influenza (AI).

(c) The poultry and poultry products were not derived from birds originating from areas within the 10km surveillance zone(s) established around a highly pathogenic avian influenza affected farm.

(d) The poultry from which the meat was derived were born, raised, and slaughtered in Spain, or were legally imported as day old chicks from countries with equivalent poultry health status.
