The Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced temporary restrictions on poultry and poultry product imports in the vicinity of the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Denmark on 11, April, 2022.  

   

Due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in captive poultry in Langeland, Denmark, temporary restrictions will be imposed on the import of poultry and its products from Langeland, Denmark, took effect from 29 March 2022.  Poultry products that meet the requirements of heat treatment for inactivation of avian influenza viruses by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE)  will not be affected by the import restrictions.  

   

Poultry products exported from Langerland before March 15, 2022 and slaughtered before March 29, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.  

   

To facilitate clearance of other poultry and poultry products,  the accompanying veterinary health certificates should include below additional certificates when importing poultry and poultry products: A. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H5 and H7 are notifiable diseases in exporting countries. B. By the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE)’s definition , poultry for meat use did not get avian influenza H5 and H7 sub-types vaccination . C. Poultry and meat products are not from Langeland, Denmark. Poultry for meat use are born, raised and slaughtered in Denmark or day-old chicks legally imported from countries with similar poultry health status.
