Japan issued an inspection notice on food filled with hard capsules for health food

On August 9, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan issued a notice saying that hard capsules made from liquid paraffin or titanium dioxide as release agent component are no longer permitted. From this day on, when hard capsules filling food(mainly for health food) made from liquid paraffin or titanium dioxide as release agent component apply for import declaration, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will review emphatically on the manufacturing date of declaration files(date of filling of content) , and urge enterprises to avoid violation concerning item 2 of article 13 in the Food Hygiene Law.

8月9日,日本厚生劳动省发布通知称,使用以流动石蜡或二氧化钛作为脱模剂成分制造的硬胶囊不可用。自即日起,使用以流动石蜡或二氧化钛作为脱模剂成分制造的硬胶囊填充食品(主要为健康食品)进行进口申报时,日本厚生劳动省将会着重对申报资料中的制造日期(向硬胶囊中填充内容物的日期)进行审查,并督促企业使用不违反食品卫生法第13条第2项的材料。
