Foreword

This standard replaces GB 14759-1993 “Food Additive Taurine”. Compared with the GB14759-1993, the main changes are as follows:

——the scope has been revised;

——the sulfate indicator has been revised from ≤0.2% to ≤0.02%;

——the chloride indicator has been revised from ≤0.1% to ≤0.02%;

——the taurine indicator has been revised from ≥98.5% to 98.5%%~101.5%;

——the indicator of electrical conductivity and test method has been added;

——pH indicator and test method has been added;

——the indicator of ammonium salt and test method has been added;

——the identification test has been revised;

——potentiometric titration to taurine determination has been added.

Both Annex A and B of this standard are normative.

Those issued editions replaced by this standard are as follows:

——GB 14759-1993.
