Foreword

This standard replaces GB 1902-2005 “Food additive Sodium benzoate”.

Compared with GB 1902-2005, the major changes are as follows:

——the name of this standard has been revised to “National food safety standard Food additive Sodium benzoate”;

——the item of arsenic has been deleted;

——the item of phthalic acid has been added;

——the indicator of chloride has been revised;

——the test method of heavy metal has been added.
