Foreword

This standard replaces GB 8270-1999 “Food additives Stevioside”.

Compared with GB 8270-1999, the major changes of this standard are as follows:

——the Chinese name of this standard has been revised to “National food safety standard Food additive Stevioside”;

——the standard structure has been revised;

——the related contents of structural formula, molecular formula and relative molecular mass have been revised;

——the grade requirements in the physicochemical indicators have been deleted, and the indicators have been unified;

——the identification test has been revised;

——the stevioside content, residue on ignition and loss on drying in the physicochemical indicators have been revised;

——the sweetness, specific rotation, absorbance ratio, and heavy metal indicators in the physicochemical indicators have been deleted;

——the lead, methanol and ethanol indicators have been added.
