Philippines Proposes Amendments to Guidelines on the Classification of Vitamins and Minerals in Food/Dietary Supplements for Special Population Groups

On 6 July 2026, the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a draft Amendment to the Guidelines on the Classification of Vitamins and Minerals in Food/Dietary Supplements for Children, Pregnant Women and Lactating Women for public consultation. The document is a Draft for Comments, and comments will be accepted until 28 July 2026. It has not yet entered into force.

Spain Launches Public Consultations on Updating Food Quality Legislation and Establishing a New Quality Standard for Requesón Cheese

On 3 July 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) of Spain launched two public consultations, one on updating Spain's food quality legislation and the other on establishing a new quality standard for Requesón cheese. Both initiatives are preliminary public consultations prior to legislative drafting, with comments accepted until 24 July 2026. No final regulation has yet been adopted. The main proposals include:

Vietnam Issues National Technical Regulation on Food Cassava Starch (QCVN 31:2026/BCT)

On 30 June 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Vietnam issued Circular No. 40/2026/TT-BCT, promulgating the National Technical Regulation on Food Cassava Starch (QCVN 31:2026/BCT). The document is a National Technical Regulation and will enter into force on 1 January 2027. The regulation was developed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and appraised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
