Spain's Castilla-La Mancha Region (Guadalajara Province) Suspends Poultry Meat and Poultry Product Imports
The Centre for Food Safety (CFS) of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department announced today (September 11) that in response to a notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) concerning an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in the province of Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, the CFS has immediately instructed the trade to suspend the import of poultry meat and poultry products (including poultry eggs) from the affected area to protect public health in Hong Kong.
