According to the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), on August 19, 2024, FSANZ issued Notice 301-24, in which it approved application A1247, which is to allow D-Aloketose as a novel food.
It is understood that the application proposes to produce D-allulose by enzymatically converting fructose to D-allulose using Micrococcus luteus SYG27B-MF, which contains the enzyme alloxan-3-differential isomerase.
