According to the EU Rapid alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), on August 22, 2024, the Dutch regulator withdrew its food safety alert for infant formula from Ireland.

On 14 August, the Netherlands, through RASFF, notified Irish infant formula exports of suspected salmonella contamination. This notification has attracted the attention of the Irish Department of Agriculture, Food and Maritime, and has conducted an investigation in the first place. According to the results of the investigation, salmonella was not detected in the infant formula samples involved.

The Irish department promptly informed the Dutch supervisory authority of this finding, and the Dutch supervisory Authority, after being fully informed of the situation, decided to withdraw the alert previously issued through RASFF.
