Argentina approved 1 transgenic maize for food, feed and commercial cultivation

On October 15, 2024, the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries issued a transformant approval notice dated October 9, 2024, approving transgenic maize DP-91Ø521-2 for food, feed and commercial cultivation. Developed by Cordova, the transgenic maize combines glufosinate ammonium tolerance and resistance to lepidopteran pests through the expression of the Cry1B.34, PMI and PAT genes, the transgenic maize is currently approved for food in Australia and New Zealand, Japan and Brazil, and for food and feed in the United States and Colombia.
