China becomes major importer of Russian poultry meat in the first three quarters of 2024

China has become the main importer of Russian poultry meat in the first three quarters of 2024, the Russian Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport Center, a subsidiary of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, told SPUTNIK.

 

Ranking second among Russia's poultry meat importers was Saudi Arabia, and third was Kazakhstan.

 

In the first nine months of 2024, Russia's poultry meat exports amounted to about 290,000 tons, which is 12% more than in the same period last year. According to the forecast of the Russian Center for Development of Agricultural Exports, the total volume of Russian poultry meat and food by-products exports may reach 730,000 tons by 2030.

 

In January-September 2024, the production of meat and poultry by-products in Russia reached almost 4 million tons, which is 2.7% more than in the same period last year.
