Canada approved lipase from Aspergillus niger strain PLR for use in bread and other foods

On October 30, 2024, Health Canada issued M-FAA-24-12, a proposed revision to the list of permitted food enzymes, approving lipase from Aspergillus niger strain PLR for use in bread, flour, wholemeal flour, pasta (dried and fresh), and non-standardized bakery products.

  

The revision is effective from October 30, 2024 onwards.
